Zhang Yan has also led the team to carry out research on the progress of domestic and foreign surveillance of syncytial virus infection.Studies show that the peak of syncytial virus epidemic in China is mostly in winter and spring, and the proportion of patients under the age of 2 is as high as 65.64%.Among patients under 2 years of age, the prevalence rate was highest at 6 months of age, followed by the 6 months of age to 1 year of age group.
The most effective means is prevention.

However, according to the detailed analysis of the epidemic time and region of syncytial virus in China, Li You said that seasonal vaccination strategies are not suitable for all regions in China.
For example, respiratory syncytial viruses such as Fujian, Guangdong and Yunnan provinces have been transmitted for more than six months, exceeding the protection period provided by the niseviramab vaccine.
