Dr. Kiselev, Professor Stefan Blügel, Ph.D. Filipp N. Uppsala University, Sweden Dr. Rybakov, Dr. Yang Luyan, Peking University of Technology, and Dr. Shi, Dr. Ernst Luska Electron Microscope Center, Ulrich Research Center, Germany, Rafal E. Professor Dunin-Borkowski and other scholars collaborated. "Hopfzi" is named after the German mathematician Heinz-Hopf, whose concept can be traced back to the "topological soliton" first proposed by British physicist Tony Skelm in 1962.In 2009, scientists first discovered a topological soliton in a magnet, known as the Skelmingson in honor of Tony Skelm. It is generally considered that the magneto-sigmintons are two-dimensional spiral structures formed by electron spin in space, which penetrate from the upper surface to the lower surface of the sample.Theoretically, if the two ends are joined together, a class of three-dimensional topological magnetic solitons, called magnetic Hopfons, will be further formed.So far, however, no strong evidence has been found of the existence of magnetic Hopfons. Using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) magnetic imaging and micro-magnetic calculation, the researchers observed a Hopfon coupled to a Sigmindon string in a cubic ferro-germanium alloy. By changing the direction of the outer magnetic field and ensuring that the magnetic field is weak enough to maintain the integrity of the Sigmindr string during the conversion process, the closed magnetic structure of the Sigmindr string is stable. The study also provides a unified homotopy classification of Schlumberger-Hopf, and discusses the diversity of topological solitons in chiral magnets.This breakthrough provides new ideas for the future development of magnetic materials, spin electronics and non-traditional computing, as well as strong support for the design and development of new functional devices. The above research work is supported by the National Natural Science Foundation and the Central University's operating expenses, as well as by Du Haifeng, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Strong Magnetic Field Science Center.
