The gradual entry of young people into the main position of scientific research is inevitable in history and historical development, necessary for the development of the country, and an inalienable law of nature.Just like the new seedlings in nature, they are destined to gradually grow into the pillars of heaven and earth.
Now that the policy direction is in place, what can our schools do for young people?I think I can at least do the following:
1. Give them a relatively stable life.
All say that matter is the foundation, ancient Chinese sages also told us that "cang Bingshi know etiquette, clothing and food know honor and disgrace."After more than a decade of hard work, young people are most eager to have a stable job and life, start a new life journey.Many schools now provide new PhDs with funding to settle down and start up research, and some have teacher apartments, which have helped them start their new lives.I just hope that this kind of help will be less conditional and less threshold.In some schools, settlement fees are linked to articles published by new doctors and are distributed over several years, and if they do not meet the requirements of publication or the requirements of the project, they will be eliminated.Such a policy has lost its meaning.
2. Give them a platform for scientific research.
In fact, young people are under a lot of pressure to settle down, need pre-employment training, teacher qualifications, need to listen to lectures, need to continue research, declare funds, some schools even require a year as student counselors, these need to be completed in two or three years.The lack of articles and projects often means that further development will be more difficult."Be famous while you're young" is the same with scientific research. If you can get something out earlier, it's often easier behind you.But school platforms are often inadequate.The big guys make up the majority of the research resources and they've already picked out the best newcomers.For most newcomers, you need to find and even create your own platform.Therefore, schools should do their best to create a research environment for them, at least so that they can have a place to do experiments, can complete most of the experiments.
3. Give them a gentle instruction.
At first, most of the newcomers were actually lost.As mentioned earlier, there are so many things that it is easy to get lost.Failure in scientific research is more likely to lead to frustration.It was in this frustration that many people gradually fell silent.If they can be given mentors, help in life, advice at work, and scientific research, they will be much less confused and more advanced.
4. Give them a chance to get ahead.
Many newcomers have a high standard, but the promotion channel is to rank seniority, even short-board elimination.Some newcomers are able to stand out and get promoted because of the big guys' team, but more people need years of wives to stay in.We hope that promotion policies will be more reasonable and humane, so that they can avoid shortcomings and advance in life.
So, what should we do?
Don't put too much pressure on them.
Stress can make people grow, but too much stress can only make them sink.For example, the phenomenon of some schools leaving only a hundred or so postdoctoral students is truly appalling.Abnormal pressure will only force them to commit academic fraud.
Don't let them get lost in trifles.
I can't understand. What kind of fairy operation is it to have new doctors become counselors?The trivialities of making them scientific secretaries, compiling reports, teaching secretaries, scheduling classes, etc. slowly wear away their talents and spirits, and waste their best years on administrative matters and make them ordinary.How does this take on the responsibility of scientific research?
3. Don't let them be the Lakers.
Some places have rivers and lakes, estimate which school has some big men between rivers and lakes, you stand in this big man's team, estimate that other big men will not like you, maybe one day to give you a trip.In fact, I still hope that the big guys can love the new people, so that they can avoid touching the river and lakes.
