The reporter learned from the University of science and technology of China that recently, the research group of Professor Zhang douguo of the university has developed a planar micro imaging element based on optical film for the glass slide of the tested sample, which can realize dark field micro imaging and total internal reflection imaging on the conventional bright field optical microscope to obtain high contrast optical micro images.
Using the optical principle, the optical microscope can magnify and image small objects that cannot be distinguished by human eyes. The conventional optical microscope is a bright field microscope, which uses light to illuminate and image each point in the sample in a bright background according to its different light absorption. However, for some biological samples or other transparent samples that have not been stained, because they absorb little light, the contrast is poor and difficult to observe. The advent of dark field microscope and total internal reflection microscope can solve this problem, but they need complex optical elements, which are large, difficult to integrate and difficult to operate.
Recently, Professor Zhang douguo's research group has developed a planar micro imaging element based on optical film through ingenious design. The element can realize dark field micro imaging and total internal reflection imaging at the same time on a conventional bright field microscope. Compared with the bright field optical microscope image, the imaging contrast is greatly improved.
At the same time, this element has the advantages of simple structure, easy integration, low cost and convenient operation. It is not only suitable for the imaging of samples in air, but also suitable for the imaging of biological living cells in liquid environment.
The experimental results show that the imaging contrast can be effectively improved and the imaging function can be expanded by designing and making appropriate microscope slides without changing the main optical path architecture of the existing microscope.
