He is buried in his own scientific research and doesn't care much about things other than knowledge. Shortly after his return, in order to establish academic friendship with his domestic counterparts as soon as possible, he took the initiative to send an email to several professional counterparts in China, hoping to take the opportunity of business trip to these peer research groups for academic exchanges. In fact, this initiative of young professors is a common practice of academic friendship among international peers and a win-win academic activity of "both supply and demand". However, the response of his peers to his request was different. Young and middle-aged professors from several well-known universities, such as Tsinghua University and Shanghai Jiaotong University, warmly welcome young scholars to communicate with their research groups. Therefore, young scholars take advantage of business trips to report their achievements in these Professor teams, and both sides have established an academic friendship based on mutual trust among peers. However, some university professors are indifferent to the academic exchanges offered by young returnees. Of course, I can't guess the thoughts of these professors who have a negative attitude towards academic exchanges. This topic reminds me of my academic exchange experience. (Ben), coordinator of graduate program of Irish Geoscience I was moved that Professor Kennedy came to the lecture meeting in person. Similarly, in 2013, I visited my relatives at MIT in Boston. I also took the initiative to write to my colleagues at the University of Massachusetts, hoping to visit and communicate with her. Colleagues replied that I have read all the good achievements you published. You are very welcome to come to academic exchange and make an academic report to our research group. Although the visit did not take place for other reasons, it also shows that I have always held a positive attitude towards active academic exchanges.

In short, the significance of academic exchange is to use the brains of others for my own use. While understanding the achievements of your peers, you also let your peers know what you are doing? Some scholars only pay attention to the "title" of the exchange object rather than the content. In particular, they only communicate with those "cattle" who hold various resources and have more voice, although some of these cattle have left the academic front line for various reasons. Some people attend academic conferences not for academic exchanges, but mainly to get familiar with their peers (although meeting peers is also one of the purposes of attending the conference) and "connect". This brings some abnormal non academic color to the normal academic exchange. Some people told me that affected by the impetuous academic ecology, some young scholars are busy with relationships, especially during the project review or some honorary title review, they rack their brains to inquire about the review information. Young scholars are the academic future of our country and the main force of rejuvenating the country through science and education. Scientific and technological innovation, basic scientific research and solving neck technology all depend on the efforts and struggle of young people. If they can't settle down to "do their own scientific research", we will be in the distant future to become a scientific and technological power.

In an article, Professor Shi Yigong warned the outstanding young people of Tsinghua University: "don't spend time on relationships, do your best to do research and win with strength! In fact, a person's dignity, academic status and the heartfelt respect of others can never be obtained by relationships, but only from their own real academic cultivation and contribution."
