At present, in the first half of this year, the work of defense for master of education graduate students in our unit has been completed, and the three part-time students under my guidance have successfully passed the defense. Their research is to use the experimental method to solve practical problems. I think I have made unremitting efforts in reversing the topic selection of master of education. Some of the details may be instructive to the cultivation of master of education. In the process of guiding these students, I mainly do it online, thus leaving my own written materials to guide them. Here, I choose to present part of the content of guiding a student, hoping to be beneficial to the relevant tutors and students.

1、 On the general idea of research

（1） On research methods

As you can see from the literature review, there is a general tendency of method supremacy in the current dissertations of master of education. They are prone to intermediary analysis, regulatory analysis, chain intermediary analysis, multiple intermediary analysis, regulatory intermediary analysis, regulatory intermediary analysis, and even more complex analysis. In fact, the corresponding research is often flashy, seemingly profound, but can not solve practical problems. This kind of situation does not agree with my understanding of the training goal of master of education.

As far as I know, those students who have done such analysis often don't understand the significance and function of such analysis. They just follow the procedures and may be bluffing people with the results of such analysis. I don't like it. I hope your research will be based on experiment rather than measurement (although questionnaire survey is needed, the basic method is experiment). In addition, if we do research, we often have to examine at least three variables; If you do experimental research, there is no such concern.

（2） Research topics

After reading the literature, you may have a series of ideas, especially want to use empirical methods to test. For example, the more direct and preliminary ideas may be: proyer, gander, wellenzohn, & Ruch, 2016) is effective for adults, so is it effective for teenagers? If it is effective for middle school students, is it effective for primary school students? If it's valid for one week in a row, is it valid for three days in a row? Is even one day effective? Or how about two weeks in a row? We all say that teachers are under great pressure and have job burnout. Can we use Jiumei technology to alleviate it? wait.

After reviewing your opening report, I feel that your current research design is mainly about questionnaire survey, and the advantages and characteristics of experimental intervention are not reflected. At the same time, the terms "self-directed learning disposition" and "perceived school atmosphere" are cumbersome - though they have been proposed and studied by others.

I think that if experimental intervention is the research feature, we might as well consider this: we should study "learning burnout" and "perceived school atmosphere" (in fact, "perceived school atmosphere" should be translated as "perceived school atmosphere"), or simply study "learning burnout", and carry out pre-test first, and then intervention (we can design two conditions of intervention for one week or four weeks), After that, the intervention effect was evaluated.

（1） A research issue needs to be identified.

You should be clear about your research problems, for example, to solve the actual learning burnout of junior high school students. Naturally, you need to know the situation of junior high school students' learning burnout, which requires a questionnaire survey. More importantly, it is obviously how to alleviate and even eliminate learning burnout. What I want to point out is that the research on which factors affect learning burnout and how the corresponding factors affect learning burnout is a problem of master degree research, not a problem of master degree research, because it is a theoretical research. As a professional master, we should study how to solve the problem of learning burnout in reality. We can not consider the internal mechanism first - what's more, the corresponding mechanism is very complex, even a master or even a doctor may not be able to study it clearly.

（2） We need to design a research plan.

This program involves what technology or method to solve the learning burnout of junior high school students. According to the literature study, we think that Jiumei technology can be used to solve this problem. Three experiments may be designed.

In Experiment 1, we tested the applicability of Jiumei technology to relieve or eliminate learning burnout of junior high school students in China (the literature shows that Jiumei technology can relieve depressive symptoms, so we can test its relieving effect on learning burnout). According to the method of literature (of course, online experiment is used in the literature, you need to change to offline experiment), the subjects were divided into experimental group and control group, After the pretest, the subjects in the experimental group wrote 9 beautiful things of 3 categories every day for 7 consecutive days, while the subjects in the control group wrote 9 items of early memory every day for 7 consecutive days (if it is found that the subjects have difficulty in writing the contents of early memory through the pre-test, they can record the three meal recipes and the weather in the morning, morning and afternoon every day). The post test was carried out on the eighth day. The expected result is that the level of learning burnout in the experimental group is significantly lower than that in the control group.

In Experiment 2, the intervention effects of one week and two weeks were tested. Experimental group 1 and experimental group 2 (all subjects were required not to participate in Experiment 1) were selected for the pre-test. After that, the subjects in experimental group 1 were required to write three kinds of 9 beautiful things every day for one week, while the subjects in experimental group 2 were required to write three kinds of 9 beautiful things every day for two weeks, and the post-test was carried out on the 15th day. The expected experimental result is that the effect of two weeks' Jiumei technology intervention is better than that of one week's Jiumei technology intervention.

In Experiment 3, to test the difference between self discovery and appreciation of beautiful things, experimental group 1 and experimental group 2 (all subjects were required not to participate in Experiment 1 and Experiment 2) were selected for pretest. After that, the subjects in experimental group 1 were required to write 9 beautiful things in 3 categories every day for one week, and the subjects in experimental group 2 were required to read 9 beautiful things in 3 categories every day for one week, The posttest was carried out on the 8th day. The expected result is that self discovery is better than acceptance and appreciation.

If the three experiments get the expected results, then it is verified that Jiumei technology is an effective measure to alleviate the learning burnout of junior high school students, and this method can be used to solve the learning burnout problem of more junior high school students.

There are three experiments in this kind of research, and the workload is certainly enough; This research result is certainly useful to the actual mental health education work, and also enlightening to other researchers. It is much better than those papers that use three or more questionnaires to test and carry out various complex analysis. As for the Jiumei materials provided, it can be determined through pre experiment. The method is very simple. You can find these three types of materials on the Internet, ask 10 students to evaluate them, and select those materials approved by students.

Again, I just want to remind you that here are just three experiments for example. You can design other three or four experiments based on this, especially in combination with your actual situation, and give full play to your initiative and creativity.

The results show that all the education postgraduates under my guidance are willing to accept my guidance, and can carry out research to solve practical problems and write master's thesis in combination with their own work practice, which has achieved satisfactory results.
