I am honored to be invited by Dr. Yao Wei to write a preface for this book. I've been thinking about how to write? To me, this invitation is not only an encouragement and honor, but also an opportunity and empowerment. This opportunity and empowerment should not be missed again. When working with Dr. Yao Wei on the 13th five year plan textbook knowledge management, Dr. Yao Wei asked me to write a preface, but I was worried that I didn't write it again and again. First, they don't know how to write; second, they lack confidence and worry that they are not qualified to write preface. But this time, we must seize the opportunity. Such opportunities are not available to everyone, and such partners are not available to everyone. Therefore, the preface is divided into two parts: "academic cooperation with Dr. Yao Wei" and "me and NVivo software".

1、 Academic cooperation with Dr. Yao Wei

Dr. Yao Wei is not so much my partner as the person who leads me into the palace of scientific research and explores the road of scientific research. He helps me all the way. My progress in scientific research is inseparable from Dr. Yao Wei's help and guidance.

He is a good teacher. Dr. Yao Wei and I are colleagues in different departments of the same college, but he helped me in scientific research as a teacher and gave me selfless guidance. From the article revision, subject application, monograph writing, patent and award application, all give help and guidance. Before I knew him, my attitude towards scientific research was uncertain, and I was at a loss about the development of scientific research path. After knowing him, especially after cooperating with him, I found that I had more confidence in doing scientific research, more clear scientific research objectives and broader scientific research road.

It was first heard that Dr. Yao Wei's name was related to the exhibition competition. Dr. Yao Wei was a teacher of information management and information systems, but he took his students to participate in the exhibition planning competition. Exhibition is my major. When I heard that there were non exhibition teachers taking students to participate in the competition, I was very surprised and thought, where is this sacred? Two months later, in July 2017, I saw Dr. Yao Wei's lecture on qualitative research and NVivo software on the school's official website. At that time, I was learning research methods. First, I contacted Dr. Yao Wei on QQ and said that I would listen to his lecture. He politely welcomed me to attend.

During the lecture, I met Dr. Yao Wei. I felt that the teacher was very young and full of vigor. Now I think it was scientific research that gave him the spirit. During the two days of the lecture, we had a lot of interaction. He asked us to code on site. That was my first contact with NVivo software. I coded at the scene, but due to the lack of theoretical foundation, the coding level is not high. On the spot of the lecture, I showed Dr. Yao Wei the qualitative papers I published. He put forward many suggestions for my articles. From these suggestions, we can see that Dr. Yao Wei's profound theoretical foundation and scientific research literacy have aroused his admiration for Dr. Yao Wei.

With the in-depth exchange of scientific research with Dr. Yao Wei, I gradually changed my laziness and actively participated in various scientific research activities. Together with the young teachers of our college, we jointly set up the academic organization "out of the jungle · Tianke society", which carries the scientific research dream of our young teachers. If there is a dream, there must be a pursuit. With this understanding, I began to devote time and energy to the development of the society, and try my best to contribute to the development of the society. I hope that one day, our society will become the backbone of the development of the college and even the school.

He is a good friend. Scientific research integrity is the bottom line of scientific researchers. As a beneficial friend, Dr. Yao Wei always reminds me that if I want to do scientific research well, I must lay a good foundation for the building. The cornerstone must be firm. If the cornerstone is not firm, it will collapse at any time. This strengthened my sense of integrity in scientific research, and also changed my attitude of doing scientific research, that is, doing scientific research quietly and accumulating achievements slowly. Scientific research itself should be a matter of "slow work leads to meticulous work". Fortunately, with the guidance and help of Dr. Yao Wei, he has enhanced his sense of integrity in scientific research, laid a solid foundation for scientific research, and laid a foundation for academic development.

He is a messenger of ideas. Dr. Yao Wei's thinking is particularly active. He can always give people a kind of ideological enlightenment, so you have to admire his academic attainments. His active thinking is reflected in his planning for the development of the society, the construction of his own scientific research system, and his influence on others' scientific research thinking. Active thinking is the bridgehead of innovation. Innovation needs to break its own inherent thinking, absorb people's strong points, make use of it, and make bold attempts. Many people don't want to jump out of their comfort zone, but it's possible to innovate by exercising in the learning or panic zone. Dr. Yao Wei's practice of recruiting national research collaborators across the country has been innovative in thinking, opening a new ecology of scientific research cooperation.

In addition to knowledge, Dr. Yao Wei's influence on me is also reflected in changing my scientific research thinking, improving my scientific research literacy, deepening my scientific research concept and enhancing my scientific research belief. It is the same as self-cultivation. It's up to the practitioners themselves to know how to practice and what the result will be. As far as I'm concerned, I've been on my way to scientific research and practice. It's my luck to meet Dr. Yao Wei, a good teacher and helpful friend.

2、 NVivo software and I

My acquaintance, acquaintance and familiarity with NVivo software all originated from Dr. Yao Wei. The acquaintance with NVivo software took place in July 2017. I attended the public lecture on qualitative research and NVivo software held by Dr. Yao Wei in the college. It was the first time that I came into contact with NVivo software. At that time, Dr. Yao Wei taught with NVivo 11. Seeing Dr. Yao Wei skillfully use NVivo 11 software, I was envious. But the first time I came into contact, I didn't feel much about NVivo software, because at that time, I felt that even if I didn't use NVivo software, I could still code it. Therefore, after attending Dr. Yao Wei's lecture, I did not put the study and application of NVivo software on the agenda. In the summer vacation of 2018, I participated in the conference on "qualitative research" organized by the academic journal, which involved the application of the qualitative software NVivo. However, at that time, I didn't know much about qualitative research and was not very proficient in the application of NVivo software, so I still didn't arouse my enthusiasm for NVivo software.

The acquaintance with NVivo software comes from Dr. Yao Wei's lectures. The acquaintance with NVivo software also comes from Dr. Yao Wei's series of lectures. However, my identity has changed. My acquaintance with NVivo software is as a learner, while my acquaintance with NVivo software is as a teaching assistant. Since December 2018, as a teaching assistant, I have participated in Dr. Yao Wei's seven lectures on qualitative research and NVivo software application. During these lectures, I have a deeper understanding of qualitative research and NVivo software application.

Qualitative research is a kind of activity that takes the researcher himself as a research tool, uses a variety of data collection methods (interview, observation, physical analysis) in the natural situation, makes an in-depth and holistic inquiry into the research phenomenon, forms conclusions and theories from the original data, and obtains an interpretative understanding of the behavior and meaning construction of the research object through interaction with the research object. My understanding of qualitative research can be said to be a process from "superficial" to "profound". At the beginning, my understanding of qualitative research was subjective and lack of objectivity. With the deepening of my understanding of qualitative research and quantitative research, I gradually found that qualitative research can not compare with quantitative research in depth exploration and exploration of research objects, and also gradually found qualitative research The charm of life lies in the diversity, richness and depth of life. With the deepening of the understanding of qualitative research, my understanding of NVivo software is becoming more and more profound. From NVivo 11 to NVivo 12, I find its charm - its powerful functions can help researchers improve efficiency, show thinking, link dialogue, and it is one of the indispensable tools for researchers to do qualitative research.

In order to deeply understand the application of NVivo software, I am very lucky to participate in the compilation of this book under the guidance and help of Dr. Yao Wei. This book is written on the basis of NVivo 12 software. The cases in the book are real cases of Dr. Yao Wei's lectures, which are more targeted. By reading this book, you can master the operation of NVivo 12 software, quickly process your scientific research data, improve the efficiency of your thesis writing, and form your own qualitative research system.
