The youth wisdom is the national wisdom, the young rich is the country rich; the juvenile is strong, the juvenile independence is the state independence; the juvenile freedom is the national freedom; the juvenile progress is the national progress; the youth is better than Europe, the country is better than Europe; the juvenile male than the earth, the country is superior to the earth. " Every time I read it, I feel deeply. The strength and weakness of a country's scientific and technological strength are mainly determined by young researchers. Young researchers are strong, and China has strong scientific and technological strength. At the same time, I think the young researchers should have the following spirit of May 4th.

First, young researchers should have the spirit of exploring the future science. Many young people think that scientific research is to write papers, so the research direction of easy to publish academic papers has become a hot topic. Especially in the previous years, we have been competing with "SCI journal influencing factors", and the engineering people cross the boundary to do the problem of materials science, the people who do material science go beyond the boundary to do chemistry, and those who do chemistry also cross the boundary to do the life sciences. These people have no significant influence factor data in their own subject field except for their ability to improve their paper's "influence factor data". At the same time, they think that their first-class work in cross-border areas is meaningless in the eyes of researchers in those fields. Young researchers should be full of the spirit of exploring future science. Therefore, we must know that the hot issues are not necessarily the direction of future science, but there are many future scientific directions that may be completely cold issues. Therefore, I am very disagreed with the development mode of University researchers "beyond the border". Of course, many researchers are aware of the harm of such research to the development of disciplines. Therefore, young researchers can not simply play with "data of influencing factors", but should base on their own research fields, think about future scientific issues worth exploring in the field, and be able to lead the development of disciplines.

Second, young researchers should be full of positive and innovative spirit. Many doctoral students over reach young researchers, suddenly feel confused. They don't know how to do research themselves. If only the research topic during doctoral period has been done for four or five years, the innovation content in it has been almost done. If you do a job that you are not familiar with, worry about not being able to do it. I know some teachers, what they did 10 years ago, and I am still doing and can continue to publish some academic papers. Good listening is to do "extremely deep", said that bad listening is "eat old Ben.". I think a researcher in a university should make a minor in scientific research for five years and a big change in ten years. Only in this way can we continue to do innovative work. Many people think that young researchers have no large team, so they can not make particularly outstanding innovative results. In fact, otherwise, this understanding is wrong. A lot of research shows that the team that can really make disruptive and innovative work is often small research team, and those large teams usually do "step by step" work. Therefore, when the team of young researchers is not particularly large, we can gather ideas and possibly make subversive and innovative work.

Third, young researchers should be full of criticism and dare to challenge authority spirit. There is a very bad phenomenon in the academic circle. Some young researchers are very thoughtful and creative. But when their work can not get the approval of "authoritative personnel", they will feel that they are not doing right, rather than standing up to challenge these authorities. Many times, they make some research results, if they find their results are inconsistent with the papers published in academic journals, they will feel that they have done wrong. What they lack is to challenge authoritative views and inherent knowledge with critical thinking. Many times they miss some important results because they dare not challenge authority. I think it is a virtue to respect teachers and to be important. But on the road of scientific research, it is more valuable for young people to have critical research spirit. Now we are very superstitious about the top journals such as nature and science. When we find out that these journals have published some achievements, they think it is right without thinking, and follow the wind to do some research. Even if the results they have made are totally different from the conclusions of these journals, they dare not challenge them. Last year, the media reported the case of fraud in the study of cardiac stem cells of Piero anweisa, a Harvard professor. I believe that the results of most young scholars in China must be in the opposite direction. But they are because the other party is a "well-known professor of Harvard University", and the paper is published in the top journals of nature and science, so they passively "think they are wrong", and finally become a joke in the academic circle. If they dare to criticize the authority and challenge the view of authoritative journals, the development of things may be totally different. Therefore, the spirit of criticizing and challenging authority is a valuable spirit for young researchers.

Finally, young researchers should have the spirit of "keeping pace with the times". Now that the state is vigorously implementing "breaking four only", we should respond to this good call to do some scientific research work that can truly "stand up to the sky", and no longer simply pursue the wind, pursue the number of papers published, pursue high impact factors and pursue high cited times. We should do deep and systematic research work in our own discipline, and really dig out scientific principles through phenomena, and provide knowledge reserve for the future industrial upgrading in China. When we are old one day, we look back on the research work we have been engaged in in in our life. If there is such an event that will affect the life of the later generations, I feel that there is no regret in this life.
